The Klezmer Dance Party!
Klezmatize brings traditional music alive with a vibrant Klezmer dance party! Our interactive ceilidh-style concert is a fun, energising way to experience the treasures of Eastern European cultures, and ideal for festivals. This imaginative project involves audiences in the Klezmer music style , giving the feel of authentic community parties where Klezmer musicians played for hundreds of years. The Klezmer Dance Party is ideal for involving diverse communities of all generations in Yiddish social dances, interspersed with inspiring acoustic concert sets from a range of traditions.
The distinctive sound of Klezmatize blends lyrical qualities of the clarinet and accordion, and is met enthusiastically by people from every background. The characteristic rhythms of horas, kolomykes, hongas, freylachs, chusidls make it impossible not to join in with the party sprit! Traditional dance tunes are complimented by refreshing, original compositions, in the old style but with a fresh twist..
